MUST HAVE makeup products for oily skin!

Hi guys! So, today I posted a poll on twitter asking if you would rather see my favorite makeup products for oily skin or DIY glam Halloween décor/how I decorated my room for Halloween, and if you’re reading this post you can obviously tell which one won (although it was SUPER close)! If you voted for Halloween décor, don’t worry! I will be posting that one later this week. Also, I will probably be using twitter polls in the future to see what posts you guys are most interested in seeing, so if you don’t already follow me on twitter make sure you follow so in the future you can vote for what posts you want to see (you can access my twitter here)! If you ever have any suggestions for things you want me to post about, feel free to message me on any of my social medias and let me know! Without further ado, here are my favorite makeup products for oily skin!

I have combination/oily skin, but my t-zone gets super oily throughout the day. The following products are things that I use every day and swear by to control my oils and keep my makeup looking flawless throughout the day!

Starting off with primers, my two holy grail primers that I use every single day are the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer($16, this is for the travel size one which is what I use and it lasts me forever) and the MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer (1 Mattifying Primer)($46.85 for the full size which is 30 ml, also lasts me FOREVER..hehe get it). I use the smashbox one all over my face to give my skin a smooth base for my foundation and then I use the makeup forever just on my t-zone to minimize my pores and give a matte appearance. I swear by both of these primers and I feel that they work even better when used together!

For foundation, I primarily use the L’Oreal Pro Matte Foundation. This has been my go to for so long and I HIGHLY recommend this for anyone who is looking for a good drug store foundation for oily skin. This foundation seriously would last through a rain storm. It’s medium-full coverage, lasts SO long, and keeps my t-zone matte for a lot longer than most other foundations that I’ve tried. It never gets patchy when I wear it over the two primers that I mentioned above, any products you put on top of it look amazing, and I don’t really notice any oxidization. Every time I wear this foundation my skin looks flawless and you can hardly see my pores. I wouldn’t say that it keeps my skin completely matte all day but I usually don’t feel the need to touch up with powder for at least 5-6 hours which is a really long time for a foundation to control my oils. It’s also affordable (around $10, you can purchase it with the link I provided above) which is another reason that I love it and keep repurchasing it, since I am on a college student’s budget lol. Another foundation that I have previously used, and loved, was the smashbox studio skin foundation. This foundation had beautiful coverage and made my skin look amazing. You can hardly even tell that you’re wearing foundation, it’s so beautiful. It controlled my oils pretty well and lasted a long time, as it claims to do. The only reason I stopped using this foundation was unfortunately because of the price, at Sephora it costs about $42, which is a bit too expensive for me to keep purchasing, even as much as I love it (If you guys want to see a more in-depth review of this foundation, let me know and I will definitely make a whole post about it!).

For powder, my holy grail is the Maybelline FitMe Matte and Poreless setting powder. This is another affordable product that you can find at any drugstore or the link I provided. I use this every day to set my foundation and to touch up when I’m getting oily. The translucent shade is great for those who don’t want to add much coverage with a powder, and the ones that have a color are also great to add just the right amount of coverage while keeping your skin matte and flawless.

I set my makeup with a setting spray when I’m know I’m going to a special event or if I’m going to have my makeup on for longer than usual. I use the Urban Decay All Nighter Make Up Setting Spray
and it works wonders! Not only does it set my makeup and help blend any powders into my skin so I don’t look cakey, but it keeps my makeup looking flawless for a lot longer than if I were to not use it!

That’s all for now! Let me know if you want to see more posts like this, or if you would be interested in knowing my other favorite beauty products or maybe even a makeup tutorial!

I use a beauty blender for my foundation, I find it give the most flawless coverage and makes everything super even and smooth! For powder I just use a small brush to set under my eyes and a fluffy brush to set the rest of my face! So glad you like the post, hope this helps!💖💖

I find that silicone based primers make my oily skin a mess 😭 I think the smashbox ones works for everyone except me lol. I’m still on the hunt for a primer.
